Honey was born in India and was raised in Toronto and Singapore where she attended the Canadian International School in Singapore and later in boarding school at Havergal College in Toronto. Honey enrolled at the University of Toronto where she double majored in Political Science and Management (with a double minor in Sociology and Women & Gender Studies).

Upon graduation, Honey moved back to Singapore where she started a celebrity gossip blog called The Daily Honey in 2010 to cover Bollywood celebrity news while also venturing into the world of Youtube through Bollywood movie reviews, fashion & red carpet interviews where she was eventually scouted & signed under the management of Maker Studios.

The Daily Honey was eventually placed on hiatus when Honey was accepted into New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts to study Film Production with an emphasis on Writing & Directing for Film & Television.

Honey graduated with her Master in Fine Arts from NYU Tisch in 2016 as a writer-director-producer with experience on various award-winning short films, commercials and music videos across South East Asia. Honey founded her production company Honeylove Films in Singapore to focus on feature films, television and digital content that solely features women-of-colour.

In late 2020, Honey signed with a Toronto-based literary agent as a Writer-Director where she pitched and developed treatments and outlines for romantic-comedies for various production companies in Canada, the States & The UK.

As of 2022, Honey parted ways with her management and is now based in Abu Dhabi where she is developing her first feature Happy Baisakhi, rebranding her production company and working in the Fintech industry.

Honey is the alumna of the NALIP Women in Diverse Media Residency Lab (2015), Hong Kong Film Financing Forum (2017), Torino Film Lab Extended (2018) and Reelworld Film Festival’s Emerging 20 program (2019).
